Another small thought on captchas, I recall a literary website where the captcha was a book cover, and you had to type the title or author's name, not sure how viable an option it would be, but something similar with movie posters would be a fun and relevant alternative to just random word captchas.
The CAPTCHA thing seems like it's worth a shot (I don't think these spammers were very good at what they did). It doesn't matter to me either way, because I rarely receive messages from people I don't know, but at the same time, I can understand how some people could run into a roadblock here.
7.5 Million? I knew my luck would come in this month!
I feel insulted that someone would even begin to think that their scam offer sounds real. Guess its just the rubbish you have to put up with on any good website.
I'm not totally against this idea, but as far as I know there's only been one spammer. This person obviously sent the same message to numerous users, but I'd hardly call it an epidemic. From what I've gathered he/she has gone down the top list and sent a message to all the top members(maybe they have gotten lower now). So, with only one spam mail in my inbox I hardly see the problem. I'd much rather be able to get various questions from stranger's and being able to ask them questions back.
I have had many pleasant and unpleasant messages, but mostly pleasant and I would be very upset not to be able to receive or send messages. Sometimes certain messages are a prelude to a friendship.

We're talking spam, both the annoying kind as well as the Monty Python kind over on the Unofficial iCM Forum. We have "iCM feature suggestions" too!

Guys, it's hard tp fight spam. CAPTCHAs are easy to break if you have the right software ;)Squin
How about filling out a captcha when you're trying to send something to a random person, but it's automatic for a friend.Showing items 1 – 15 of 30
