Time Out's The 101 Best Movie Soundtracks of All Time

Favs/dislikes: 0:0. Scores, soundtracks and iconic music to watch movies by – as picked by great film composers. Has movie music ever been better? With legends like John Williams and Howard Shore still at work, Hans Zimmer at the peaks of his powers, and the likes of Jonny Greenwood, AR Rahman, Mica Levi, and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross knocking it out of the park, the modern film score is a Dolby Atmos-enhancing feast of modernist compositions, lush orchestral classicism and atmospheric soundscapes. What better time, then, to celebrate this art form within an art form – with a few iconic soundtracks thrown in – and pay tribute to the musicians who’ve given our favourite movies (and, to be fair, some stinkers) earworm-laden accompaniment? Of course, narrowing it all down to a mere 100 is tough. We’ve prioritised music written for the screen, but worthy contenders still missed out, including Dimitri Tiomkin’s era-defining score for It’s a Wonderful Life and Elton John’s hummable tunes for The Lion King. To help do the narrowing down, we’ve recruited iconic movie composers, directors and broadcasters like Philip Glass, Carter Burwell, Max Richter, Anne Dudley, AR Rahman, Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch, Edgar Wright and Mark Kermode to pick their favourites. Happy listening!

TimeOut's 100 Best Movies of All Time

Favs/dislikes: 0:0. Everyone has their favorites—that's why any debate over what makes the best movies of all time can take hours (or, in our cases, a lifetime). Can there ever be one list to rule them all? A canon, as we critics like to call it, updated with today's game changers, that would glance upon all tastes, all genres, all countries, all eras, balancing impact with importance, brains with heart? The challenge was daunting. We just couldn't resist. Our list includes some of the most recognized action, feminist and foreign films. NOTE: "The Apu Trilogy" (Pather Panchali, Aparajito, The World of Apu) was actually listed at #65 but for technical purposes I could only add one.

Tips to Be Successful in Your Online Classes In 2022

Favs/dislikes: 0:0. Online classes during Covid-19: Want to get better results? These are the top tips for success in your online classes in 2021.
Treat your classes as a job Choose carefully where you study Track your internet use Be kind
Another semester, another year! The pandemic has made things a lot more difficult for students this year. Many students find themselves in online classes even though they have only attended in-person classes once. While the content is the same, it can be difficult to adapt to this new way of learning. There is hope for those who are currently enrolled in online courses and have difficulty. We'll be sharing tried-and-true tips from past students to help you succeed in virtual classes. Treat your classes like a job You may feel less formal because you don't have the commute to attend classes in person. This can be a good thing. Avoid doing schoolwork in bed or in your pajamas to increase your commitment and motivation. also sets clear boundaries about when it's appropriate to work and when it's best to live. You shouldn't mix them! If you are enrolled in a full-time program, for example, it is a good idea to keep a 9 am-5 pm home schedule for your coursework. Start your day at 9 am and work until 5 pm. This is a great way for you to keep your commitment to your work, and leave your school. If you are a workaholic with no set schedule, you may have difficulty putting your school aside and risk burnout. Choose carefully where you study It's easy to concentrate when you are in a lecture. There's very little to do except pay attention to the teacher. Online learning can be full of distractions. Online learning can be difficult if you are living with others. You may find yourself trying to learn while they cook, chat with their children, or watch TV. It can be difficult to concentrate when there is so much noise! Avoid common areas to find quiet places to study at home. Your bedroom is a better option than the kitchen or living room. Although office space is ideal, not everyone has the luxury of such an environment. Choose a location to study in your own home that is quiet and has minimal foot traffic. Track your internet use The greatest barrier to online learning is the accessibility to virtual distractions. You can't focus if you are simultaneously watching an online lecture and receiving message notifications. To avoid distractions from your focus, set your laptop to "Do Not Disturb" It's also a good idea to keep your lecture and/or assignment on full screen while you are working. You could end up with extra screen space you don't need, which can lead to you losing focus and allowing social media or news sites to take over. You can narrow your focus by removing extra browsing space. Be kind This is the last and most important piece of advice. Do not judge yourself. It is difficult to transition from traditional classroom learning to online education. It's OK to be less productive than usual or have trouble staying motivated. That's normal. Take care of yourself. Tips to Find Out the Best Lightweight Hiking Boots

Favs/dislikes: 0:0. Are you an adventure enthusiast who wants to explore the world? Do you often go on picnics with your friends to somewhere out of the hustle and bustle of city life? Maybe go hiking and sightseeing upon the mountain peaks with breathtaking views? For more reviews information please see this page: TheKingLive If ‘yes’ is the answer to all of the above questions, I assume you have been concerned about backpacking items, and especially aim for the best lightweight hiking shoes of your own. Having good gear and clothes will not only help you protect your body, but it will also make your entire journey a lot more fun and productive. Trust me on this, and let’s jump right into my article! What are the essential characteristics of a good pair of hiking shoes? Climbing shoes, also known as hiking footwear, always depend on factors such as lightweight design, waterproof construction and toe protection. The soles of the climbing shoes are always one of the essential parts. A good hiking shoe sole needs to be able to grip muddy, slippery, and rocky terrain. Previous hiking shoe models were quite expensive and cumbersome. However, with the needs and demands of customers, sportswear firms have been trying to improve their quality. Today, the design of hiking shoes is more fashionable, lightweight, and cooler! You can wear hiking shoes to jog on trails in the jungle to experience comfort and feel the difference. Is it possible for a pair of hiking boots to be both feature-packed and lightweight? Of course! The top-rated hiking boots can integrate the best functions but still maintain their lightweight feature, making your footsteps more comfortable and dynamic. Let's take a look at the features that a good pair of hiking shoes ought to have: Lightweight design There are hiking shoes that give you the feeling of wearing nothing. Can you believe that there are pairs of hiking boots that only weigh 300 grams? The designer team has to choose the lightest, most optimal materials to create such shoes. The weight of climbing shoes is always a top important factor. Choosing a pair of hiking shoes that weigh no more than 300 grams can make you change the whole game. If you imagine that each foot has to carry more than 300 grams from climbing shoes, walking on forest roads will be terrible, right? Moreover, many studies show that shoes weighing only 1g more are equivalent to the feel of a backpack weighing 5g more. However, if the shoes are too light, the midsole and outsole won’t be good enough to grip the ground as well as keep you comfortable during climbing. It will be easier to slip, and you will have to use more force to hold onto cliffs. This Content: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOyHy6i1iYU Waterproof construction Water-resistant is another feature that a lot of people are interested in. Humidity is one of the enemies of hiking shoes, and high humidity causes blistering of the feet due to increased friction with the shoe surface. Therefore, try to be careful and always keep your shoes dry and well-ventilated. The breathable materials allow moisture to escape from the inside of the shoe easily, but it must also be resistant to water infiltrating inside the shoe. Shoe structure Upper: The upper part of the shoe is adjacent to the toe of the shoes. It also extends to the sides. Besides, the toe must be well ventilated and resistant to water. Soles: The sole is the lower part of the shoes that touch the ground first. When choosing shoes, you need to look carefully at the soles to choose the right shoes for the trip. The sole is made of rubber to increase friction and minimize wear. It is designed with deep grooves and sharp spikes, which increases the grip on surfaces to create friction. On slippery surfaces, the rubber spikes increase the friction on the surface to help you avoid slipping. On the soft surface, the rubber will press deep down to help the shoe grip better. The sole must be firm enough to help you walk on slippery surfaces but also soft enough to be worn naturally. There are many types of distribution of rubber spikes at the sole of the shoe. Thus, be aware of the information about your upcoming trip, like where it will take place, and what kind of terrain you will be hiking on, to choose the best resoleable hiking boots. The size of mountaineering boots is also important when it affects the instep, heel, and protects the toe. I recommend you research carefully about the shoe size. If you’re going to do online shopping, find a place with detailed instructions for finding the size. Price issues The price is various, ranging from $130 to about $200. Depending on your budget, you can find a reasonable-priced yet good pair of lightest hiking boots. You use them for jogging in the forest, trails, camping, or you can even pair them with your outfit like daily sneakers. Feedback factor Last but not least, you need to spend time reading comments from buyers on the forums, brand websites of hiking shoes, and e-commerce sites to know which climbing shoes are suitable for you. Wrapping up With the development of fashion and the increasing demands for use today, a variety of hiking shoes can make it difficult for you to find the best Top Rated Hiking Boots. After reading this article, I hope you had a better overview of the aspects when choosing hiking boots. From there, you can easily choose a pair of shoes that really fit to be your companion on many upcoming trips. Finally, please cherish and preserve your pair of hiking boots, clean them, and store them in good condition after every trip. Take care of them, and your boots will be with you for a long time, always clean and comfortable, and inspiring you to set forth on good journeys. Thank you for reading.
