Is it new or am I late to the party? Has anyone else used it, and if so what did you think of it? It seems like it could be amazing, but having just joined I may just be getting my hopes up.
Weekend (2011) - Urgh, my heart's still feeling vaguely broken from this. A British social realist film set over a Weekend about a one night stand that may be something more. This film completely surprised me and despite the fact very little happens it remained interesting and emotive from start to end. This film managed to somehow feel very real from the low budget film style to the inane conversations about tea cups - it felt less like watching a movie and more like being privy to someone's life (in a non creepy way)
Fight Club - I don't know what to say that hasn't been said about this film. Just a great movie, The Pixies song is a fantastic end.
Stand By Me - This film is just so nostalgic and beautiful and innocent. It's both happy and sad and just generally perfect.
Donnie Darko - Just think this is a great teenage sci - fi film, interesting, funny and with just enough teenage angst. Also a nice soundtrack.
Trainspotting - Gritty, funny and ultimately pretty positive, great book and fantastic film.
I feel like my very poor articulation hasn't done justice to how i feel about these movies so i'm sorry about that. Adventureland, The Breakfast Club, Brokeback Mountain and Watchmen very nearly made this list too.
Mr Nobody – In my opinion, it's perfect. The story, the performances, the cinematography... Basically, everything. I've watched it oh so many times and every time I'm as amused as I was the first time I saw it.
(500) Days of Summer – The one I watch when I'm heartbroken or generally very upset. It gets the tears out of me and then leaves me cheered up.
Amelie – Heartwarming and very positive. Brings my optmism back. And the soundtrack is simply beautiful!
Into the Wild – It's so influencing and inspiring... I don't know what's not to love about it.
Fight Club – Brilliant, shocking and greatly done by the director and the actors.
The ones which were close to making it to the top: The Dark Knight, The Silence of the Lambs, Inception, The Truman Show, Life is Beautiful.
Django Unchained
The Dark Knight Rises (only a few days now)
Savages
Lawless
Total Recall (I'm optimistic about a remake for once)
The Expendables 2 (I'm on the 'Loved it' side of the first film)
The Great Gatsby
The Master
Gangster Squad

There are also films I am interested in but the trailers haven't been released for them yet. Films such as Gambit, Gravity and Lincoln.
No one mentioning Prometheus? Got to be the most anticipated film for me for years, way over Dark Knight or the assorted Hobbits. Definitely looking forward to The Master as well.
I wasn't aware of The Master until T-Made mentioned it, that'll hopefully be another great film by Anderson.
I don't understand all the hype over The Avengers, but that's probably because I find superhero movies to be just a current trend in bland film-making.
I don't find the whole Lord Of The Rings/Hobbit thing that interesting either, probably made worse by all the hype that follows them. Perhaps I'm just suppressing my inner child in my dislike of superheroes and fantasy films.
Oh, and Iron Sky, Gangster Squad, and They Sweeney could be hit or miss, maybe a bit cheesy for me.
The Raid, The Dark Knight Rises (obviously), maybe Salmon Fishing in the Yemen if it isn't as disgustingly cheesy as the trailer makes it look, and I'm curious as to whether Savages and Django Unchained will turn out to be any good...
Trying out my free 1 month trial of Netflix now, the first film I watched was The Skulls, very average but I wanted to watch a film that didn't require too much thinking -.-
Drive for me, or Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was very good too. Would have said Midnight in Paris then I realised I only saw it last year cause I was living in France at the time...
P.s Netflix was launched in the UK today, for those of you interested if you didn't know..

The Green Mile - What can I say other than it's a masterpiece? Seriously, there's nothing to fault this movie, at all.The Cat Returns - It's a fun, cute and exciting adventure. Even though I've already seen it loads of times now, I still love it today.
Airplane - A film my mother recommended to me, and I can see why. Non stop hilarity from take off to touch down.
Pulp Ficton - I flat out love this film, every second of it. It's all exciting to the end.
Kung Pow: Enter the Fist: What derived as a dub from an old Kung Fu movie turned into a hysterical laugh a minute movie which is worth seeing.

The Artist is good and original compared to many modern films but you cannot compare it to the great silent films of the past.On another note I checked to see the highest rank favourite for this group I have not seen and I have it recorded so may watch it soon- Four Lions.

the artist can't be a best film of 2011 in a united kingdom group because it came out on the 6th jan 2012.i'd probably be saying senna or a separation if i'd seen either of those so i'm gonna make sure i do soon
