I wouldn't include the Matrix trilogy. They were credited as The Wachowski Brothers in all three films.
I knew that would be controversial, Fritz, and I hesitated myself. But Lana Wachowski has officially changed her credit, as reflected on the IMDb pages for the films. I'm trying to be respectful to the person, not throw in those titles to be fanciful or political.
I recently figured out there are 11,883 official checks. So (630/11883)*100 = 5.30%. I don't know if that is higher or lower than I expected. I guess somewhat good, considering for a whole decade Hollywood only had one female director.
According to the "full cast and crew" list at IMDb, at least one of the credited co-directors for the series is a woman. Thus, it is qualified to be on this list. Thanks for your interest!
If you mean Lia Sargent, she only directed the English version, so that shouldn't count imo. All of the directors of the original Japanese version are male.

Good work putting this list together. One quick correction: Udju Azul di Yonta 1992 — a.k.a. The Blue Eyes of Yonta is not directed by a woman. The director, Flora Gomes, is a man.

Thanks for your interest, Alias. I am already aware, though, that Béla Tarr, Béla Bartók and (hello?) Bela Lugosi are men. However, Tarr's co-director on Werckmeister Harmoniak is a woman named Ágnes Hranitzky.
Cheers.

IMDB lists Mack Sennett for Mabel's Blunder as director. Other sources claim Mabel Normand. So this might or might not be a correct entry.Anyway, great list!

I don't think Kary Antholis, the director of One Survivor Remembers is a woman, based on who received the Academy Award back then at the ceremony ;)beeswax
