Notes: From 1943 to 1950, the Globes had one Best Picture category.
In 1948, two films -- “Johnny Belinda” and “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre” -- were named Best Picture.
Beginning in 1951, Best Picture was divided into two categories: one for Drama and one for Comedy or Musical.
However, in 1953, only one Best Picture -- “The Robe” -- was named.
The two separate categories were resumed in 1954 until 1958, when there were three Best Picture categories: one for Drama, one for Comedy and one for Musical.
The Comedy and Musical categories were again combined into one Best Picture award in 1963, and have remained that way ever since.
