Updated for 2023
As the first year a Greenlandic film was also nominated, making the total number of nominees six for this year.
I have not succeeded in finding information about if this was a guest appearance of sorts, or if we’ll be seeing Greenlandic nominees for all coming years.
Thank you, Magnus, for the reminder! Will add the five films after the winner have been selected on November 1st (Having to wait as I always add the winner as the first of the five nominees)
Nominees 2022
Denmark: Vanskabte land / Volaða land
Finland: Sokea mies joka ei halunnut nähdä Titanicia
Iceland: Dýrið
Norway: Verdens verste menneske
Sweden: Clara Sola
Flukt won in 2021
We who live in one of the Nordic countries do of course know this award by the name it is given in our respective country.
So to avoid misunderstandings of what this list is, I'll write it's name below, in each of the five countries language:
Denmark and Norway: Nordisk Råds Filmpris
Finland: Pohjoismaiden neuvoston elokuvapalkinto
Iceland: Kvikmyndaverðlaun Norðurlandaráðs
Sweden: Nordiska rådets filmpris
My reason for making a list of the nominees, instead of the winners, is partly because this is a very young prize, and not many films have won the prize yet.
But the reason is also that all the films in this list are in fact winners. Each of the films have been chosen by a jury in their respective home country. They have been chosen to represent its country before The Nordic Council.
Out of this list of nominees it is impossible to see which of the films that have received the extended honor of actually winning the prize. So I'll post the list of winners here.
The winners of The Nordic Council Film Prize are as follows:
2002 – Mies vailla menneisyyttä – Finland 2005 – Drabet – Denmark 2006 – Zozo – Sweden 2007 – Kunsten at Græde i Kor – Denmark 2008 – Du Levande – Sweden 2009 – Antichrist – Denmark 2010 – Submarino – Denmark 2011 – Svinalängorna – Sweden 2012 – Play – Sweden 2013 – Jagten – Denmark 2014 – Hross í oss – Iceland 2015 – Fúsi – Iceland 2016 – Louder Than Bombs – Norway 2017 – Tyttö nimeltä Varpu – Finland 2018 – Kona fer í stríð – Iceland 2019 – Dronningen – Denmark 2020 – Barn – Norway 2021 – Flukt – Denmark 2022 – Lamb – Iceland 2023 – Viften – Denmark

Here is the original IMDb-list that I imported. Not sure if anybody is interested, but an IMDb-list has its usages.http://www.imdb.com/list/MppBvrVSRCc/
