I have never really given any film that was made before the 1960's a chance, but I am so glad I watched this classic. Everything was perfect, and it is one of those films that captivates you during the entire viewing. I felt like I was in the room with them, and I never even thought to pause it or look at the clock. To be captivated by a film that was made over 30 years before I was born amazes me. Even if you don't think you will like this type of film, give it a chance. It just might be the best 96 minutes you spend staring at a screen.
call me inconsiderate, but i keep well away from 40's, 50's and 60's movies (that aren't westerns), not because they're bad, but because they don't seem to strike a chord with my young, naive perspective, i'm just never able to truly enjoy them for what they are. but with that said, this movie completely broke past that barrier and had me absorbed wholeheartedly in its message, acting, script and cinematography. if you for some reason, like myself, avoid these old movies, do yourself a favour and don't hurdle this masterpiece.
to rate a movie like this feels unjust. from todays perspective it's an easy 8 or 9. but for it's time it would've been an unregretful 10. so out of due respect i refuse to choose a rating for this timeless classic. JUST WATCH IT.
Masterpiece. There is a remake from 1997 which is decent but nowhere near this brilliant piece of cinema. This is from back in the day when filmmakers were innovating instead of imitating.
It's actually not as boring as I assumed it would be. Instead, I was sucked in into this tense interaction between these men - it was a suspenseful and exciting experience that thrilled me.
One of the coolest things to look at when watching this film is lenses and field of view used. The film starts with all wide angle lenses and ends with all tight shots to simulate a kind of claustrophobia, being as the entire movie takes place in one room.

I just watched it... and it's so good that it keeps you glued to the screen all the way to the end... and it's just 12 men sitting in a room!Seriously, one of the greatest movies of all time.

Amazing what you can do with a room, 12 actors and a good Script. Michael Bay should be ashamed of himself.Jinkla
