This is indeed "Hugh Grant's best work" but, sadly, that's not saying much. It is fairly enjoyable, though, and Hugh Grant - for once - is rather charming

The book is much better, but it is a truly heart warming movie. The PERFECT date movie!

It was a rom com without the rom. A truly enjoyable Hugh Grant film by the writer of High Fidelity.

The performances are great, but I don't find this movie any worthy the appraisal.
No hard feelings fans.

I agree with Lihsa, though props for the boy as well because of his performance here and in 2009's A Single Man.

Not really my cup of tea, and I love romance movies. I guess it would have been cliche, but I would've preferred it if spoiler

Nicholas Holt was great, though, as usual.

About a Boy (2002). A hugely enjoyable adaptation of Hornby's novel, combining a modern male rom-com with a double coming-of-age drama. 8/10.
