Don't understand all the praise, this was actually very typical and presented nothing new in terms of political thrillers. Not bad, but nothing extraordinary to me. Must be missing something.

Was hoping for other films to win, but it still is worthy. Better this than a mediocre sapfest like Silver Linings Playbook, an overly preachy Life of Pi, or a poorly directed Les Miserables

I hated Ben Affleck in this one. But the overall story and vibe is superb.

I've never had any problems with Ben Affleck as an actor, and found most of his films enjoyable. But as a director, I absolutely worship the guy! He really knows how to tell a story, and with Argo he makes us all sit at the edge of our seats, damn near pissing our pants because of the suspense!
Argo is a brilliant film. You disagree? Argo fuck yourself.

I love it. It kinda put me at the edge of my seat, and some of my tears have found its way...

Entertaining movie, I'll agree to that. But there where to many cliché suspense scenes, which seemed added just for sake of making a thriller. I wish they would have focused more on the human trauma of being trapped in a foreign country.

Not so good performance from Ben Affleck, but he did a great job as a director. Argo was really good and last third of the movie kept me on the edge of my seat.

A crescendo IS a build-up. I think you mean climax.

One of the more intense film experiences in recent memory. Well crafted, quick paced with a strong humourous side. A real thriller in the best sense of the term. One of the best of the year.
