Art Garfunkel?!! As in Simon and Garfunkel? As In Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme? Oh no...I can no longer ever think of that album in the same way again! It's now Perversely, Rage, Ravishment, and Crime! forever more
I find this movie endlessly fascinating. I've watched it more than a dozen times and was thrilled when Criterion released it. "It's the same old story of a boy and a girl in love." Yeah, it is.
An interesting study of the destructive forces of passion, possession and jeaoulsy told through a jigsaw puzzle of flashbacks. The movie is artisticly crafted, but feels less accomplished than it looks. One is left to wonder why such a simple story needed to be to told in such an elaborate manner.
Unlike the two previous commenters I thought that Bad Timing was rather good.
Art Garfunkel's woodenness gave a marvellous ambiguity to the character he played and one can never be entirely certain whose viewpoint, or whose assumptions about what has happened and why, is being depicted through the film - the character played by Garfunkel, Keitel or Russell?
Great mystery via the story structure. Classic of the Director. Theresa is gorgeous. Kietal wins the best performance, although slight 'accent' Arty camera angles, lenses and cinematography...often unneeded. First and only film with characters narrarting thoughts? Cannot recall many. 8/10
I hated Art Garfunkel's character so fucking much. What a whiny, pitiable pussy. However, as with all characters who inspire such contempt in me tend to go, I have to praise his performance.

Remembers me some Japanese films from the 60/70s , that's is a good thing!neocowboy
Insufferably drawn out with grotesque editing and camera work topped off with poor music choices.Garfunkel looks like a heavily medicated birthday clown.

Flawed and lifeless curio. A snoozefest if ever there was one.
