This movie is not as smart as it thinks it is. The “mystery” is arbitrary as hell and there are no stakes. I never cared for any of these characters. Awful and boring. At least Showgirls knew it was dumb.
A sexy Hollywood thriller with adult themes and adult dialogue, made by people who had a voice and a vision. Something we don't really get anymore from the major studios of today, which vastly prefer sanitized, watered down committee-approved corporate slop for 13 year olds.
I don't think that it is a distinguished dramatic work, and I do not think that it is something unique or that deserves more attention. It consists of sexual scenes and something that stimulates instincts
