Holds up well when comparing to the 1959 remake. I watched the restored version where there were sequences in COLOR!! Awesome! One of the better silent's I've seen. 9/10

If 8½ is your favorite movie, it surprises me that you think Intolerance is boring. To me, the first movie is about 8½ times as boring :D

The best silent epic I have seen.

Only Intolerance (1916) comes close to this one. Intolerance is more colossal and more ahead of its time, but overall I think Ben-Hur is a little better.

I also think this one is better than the 1959 version. The naval battle is much better, that's for sure.

Intolerance is boring as hell, this one is enjoyable even today. But I heard Metropolis was the most expensive film of silent age so how was it really? Ben-Hur or Metropolis?
