From this movie I learned that even if once you played a nonsense, crappy , bad acted cop role like in this film (yes, that goes for you, Forest Whitaker) you still have possibilities to win the Oscar for best actor in the future.
A cheesy 80s favorite that used to run (still does?) all the time on tv, and has a huge number of martial arts duels, so many it turns into a montage. I wonder how much of the film is actually based on Canadian Frank Dux, the first Westerner to win the super-secret kumite competition. Don't look for a coherent, interesting or innovative plot, but the wealth of fighting styles makes it a fun fight movie
Good old-fashioned cheesy fun with plenty of funny moments due to the horrible acting, but I am a bit disappointed with the fight choreography, which I thought would be the movie's strong point.
Definitely the most perfect Martial arts film of all time but as a film but, from the point of view of cinema is not too much good. but still my childhood favorite.

I love this movie. So simple, but so enthralling. Sad to hear about a remake, though.felipe_gr
