Thanks to John Singelton's writing and directing as well as the amazing perfromences and the strong message, Boyz n the Hood is one of the most effective and powerful films I have seen in a while. It may also be the best and most realistic portrayal of a an american black neighborhood in L.A that i have ever seen.A great and important film from the 90's
