I agree with the previous comments, i found the plot very predictable, like a mixed combination of several previous movies from disney. The story doesn't make a statement whatsoever... It's very simple, little adventure, the plot goes on very quickly... it's very short! It's just a shame, because they've created a beautiful celtic world, everything was beautiful and magical... except for the story itself!

Totally. I felt exactly the same, it's a shame really. :(

This was the only Pixar film that had not yet seen. The story is not a story that I loved but I do like the character of the princess Merida, this is a good animated movie with some fun moments, good but not great.

It does follow the fairy tale recipe but with a modern moral message and a beautiful story of a daughter and mothers journey to understanding of each other. There are way too few mother/daughter films out there so this is a refreshing offering.

The film looks amazing. Those locks on her hair are unbelievable! So another win for Pixar. Not their best but still better than most.

Not the most original story, but still a great and beautiful film.

this was a good movie with some very strong female characters which they stressed on very well by turning all the men into lovable but boorish pinheads. not a great story and the ending is a little sloppy but decent enough for kids. charming.

the sounds made by the willo'thewisps was incredibly creepy and weird. my hair stood up everytime i heard it

It's (sadly) rare to see as many women in the creative team "above the line" as grace the credits of "Brave." It's also sadly rare for mainstream films to tell stories of mother/daughter reconciliation. I wonder if there's any connection...

Beautiful, simple, a bit trite and padded, but with an emotional, solid ending. spoiler

The influence of Disney's purchase of Pixar couldn't be seen more clearly than here - "Brave" is a standard Disney princess film, with more than a passing resemblance to "Brother Bear", dressed up in stunning CG animation (perhaps the most realistic looking vistas ever seen in an animated film - gorgeous) but the thin story completely fails to live up to Pixar's high imaginative standards shoe-horning in comedy where it's not needed and squarely aiming for a younger demographic. It's always enjoyable but we've come to expect more from this studio - hopefully this is not a sign of things to come for Pixar.

Visually stunning and beautifully directed. The plot however is yet another empty Disney mixed bag with no surprise and no emotion. Shame to waste such beautiful animation like that.

Really adorable ^^ THAT HAIR! Don't expect some awesome, deep, world-changing movie though. It's just cute and I liked the music.

Considering it was basically a typical Disney princess movie, Brave's plot was formulaic, predictable, and unimpressive. However, it was created by Pixar's brilliant animation studio which can visually do no wrong, so the animation was as outstanding as usual. Not one of Pixar's best, but the worst Pixar film is still a thousand times better than most films.

More for kids than most of Pixar's stellar work, but a solid piece of work. That being said, I get the impression that Pixar should stick more to doing films about robots, toys, cars, aliens and other inanimate objects rather than humans.
