Wow, a movie that's even worse than Casablanca. İ've been waiting for this *clears throat* shitty brief encounter for years!Monteyn
Nah just kidding...No movie can beat Casablanca about being the worst.

One of the few films I cant truly say I hated. One dimensional, selfish characters following an unbelievable story. The only things which stopped me giving this 1/10 were the music and cinematography.roobin_22
It seemed to have a duration of 12 hours instead of 1.20. Dreadful. Awful. Dislike..roobin_22
oh and bad actingdchauvin
Married persons fall in love, get all melodramatic about it and cut it off. Did nothing but bore me.soraxtm
-Ugly looking except for the trains-ugly annoying people occupying all roles
-pretty much everyone but the female leads husband
-solving the existential moment with sex
and everyone remains feeling guilty the whole time
-woo fucking hoo

A tad too dramatic for my taste. Pretty to look at though.TartanLlama

The b&w cinematography is very beautiful, particularly the scenes at the station and the soundtrack is stunning, Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 makes half of the film. The acting is pretty solid though I didn't care for any of the characters. The plot is quite simple and straight forward which is not necessarily bad but I was expecting a bit more essence.Overall, I liked it, the ending is quite good, but I feel I didn't like it as much as some people!
I've read some comparisons between this and Casablanca and that's a crime, in my opinion.

When Laura bursts out laughing, at home, in front of the fireplace - I think that's one of the best performances in cinema. I could watch it over and over.Showing items 1 – 15 of 30
