Raw, brutally honest, revelatory, emotional, heartbreaking, and haunting. Just some of the many ways you can describe this film. An unprecedented journey into the heart and mind of one of rock's most enigmatic souls that we lost much too soon. Highly recommended whether or not you're a fan of Kurt Cobain or Nirvana. Worth seeing if you're just a fan of rock itself.

Not really a fan of the animated sequences spliced into more traditional talking-heads-style documentary segments. But valuable in as much as the source material is only available in audio, not video, form.

I really enjoyed the animated sequences, especially the story about the mentally challenged girl he knew as a teenager. Overall a very beautiful documentary.
