The Indian judiciary as it is. nothing less nothing more.
The movie relies on long shots with still camera and some really realistic acting skills to nail it the original way.
It feels as if the characters don't even know there is a camera there for filming.
Surprisingly the movie is not about a court room drama.
It engages us with the court charter's daily routines and portraits the normality of their lives.
But it also takes on a sad perspective of the judiciary, where the people can be held responsible for most bizarre events and the prosecution and the defense can do what so ever to prove each other wrong.
Overall it original and new way of cinema and for that its a gem.
This film didn't click for me early on, but it grew on me. It is the opposite of a legal thriller: full of minor functionaries doing tedious paperwork in drab inattentive small-claims courts arguing pedantically over an absurdly trumped-up case. The contrast with the "real world" everyday lives involved with the case is painfully real and frequently unflattering. Bone dry satire indistinguishable from actual cases and presented without any smirking. I look forward to more by this director.
