Yes, it's a teen movie, but I really enjoy these kind of movies where a whole new world is created for the story. Watch it at least once if you like sci-fi and new worlds.
Still, does every movies has to be based on a book now? Is that a prerequisite to make a good movie?

Even my 11-year-old daughter, who liked the book, thought the movie was laughable. The movie stuck to the book pretty well, but did a horrible job turning the book into a believable visual story.

Poop. SciFi premise with very little sci-fi. Why create such a complex future world scenario and then hardly even scratch the surface? The story could have been told in a high school setting and they could have shaved million of the production budget. Poop.

There isn't a single grain of believability in any part of this film, it's a sci-fi for children.

This movie surprised me in a good way. Just like when I watched The Host, I expected it to be bs. I don't realy like all that sci fi bogus but when the story enfolded I grew to love it! I have decided to pick up the books!

Almost a Hunger Games copy.
Young woman as the lead character, civilization divide in different groups, fight against the power of the government and of course the romance.
Between this and Hunger Games, Hunger Games wins.
Divergent isn't a bad movie, but I can't enjoy it more because I already have Hunger Games, and that is way better.
