I feel bad for Sean Astin. He took his career seriously and he really didn't want to be in this movie. Unfortunately, he was the weak link of this comedy. The premise is absurd but Fraisers charm and Shores stoner attitude work in its favor. Astin on the other hand played the straight man and it sucked the film down whenever the camera focused on him. He's just not a likeable character and isn't kooky enough to match the rest of the cast or script. Ironically, him being too good for the movie is made him the worst part of it. I'm willing to defend Pauly Shore here, not that he's good but he's bearable and at time endearing enough to sell the premise. It would've been a much more fun movie if it were just Shore and Fraiser
