Let me find the words: bland, boring, banal, bloated, bathetic...
This crapola does not belong on any list, let alone half the lists on this site. Overrated crap. We live in a society of idiot children who want to disneyfy everything and it results in sterilized, soulless, paint-by-numbers movies that "hit the beats" like an algorithm but ultimately have nothing to say.
Every single Pixar movie needs to be burned, shredded, and deleted.
0/10 this movie gave me cancer of the prick.
One of the biggest jewels in Pixar's crown. The animation is stunningly good and there are times you swear you're looking at real water. It works just as well for adults as it does for kids and there is a great sense of journeying throughout the movie and all the characters have well thought out character arcs.
Director Andrew Stanton puts his characters through hell before giving them a happy ending, and it's this very principle that makes the resolution all the more emotionally gratifying: Make your characters work toward their goals; don't just hand it to them.
Watching this again after having seen it in childhood was such a rich experience. I can see the loveliness of its humor and tenderness again. I adore the turtle -- so young at heart. So precious -- and wholesome. A treasure.
