A hop, a skip, and a throw from the John Wick universe, Hotel Artemis features an art deco hospital for criminals, that has its busiest night in 2028 during America's biggest riot. Slimly plotted, it may leave you wanting more, and yet, still tells a number of stories thanks to a large and very recognizable cast. Jodie Foster as the hardened nurse, Sterling K. Brown as the bank robber whose last score goes wrong, Sofia Boutella as the sexy assassin, Dave Bautista as the gruff orderly, Charlie Day, Jenny Slate, Jeff Goldblum, Zachary Quinto... Every time a new character shows up, he or she gets a cool reveal, and generally, just enough personality and back story to make them memorable, if not always completely original. The actors play to type, which fills the holes. Make no mistake, this is about world-building, first and foremost, and the characters can sometimes feel like a means an end, but it's still a fun ride while it lasts.
Impressed by Dave Bautista's acting and decent direction all round. Goldblum was less caricature than usual and Charlie Day was Charlie Day. 7/10 for the trailer
Feels like someone thought “why bother writing a full screenplay when we could just shoot this perfectly nice treatment you’ve written”.
Put another way, there’s the potential for a decent pulpy movie in here, but it’s almost all under-written. It gives the storytelling a muddy feel (underscored by murky cinematography) where, worst of all, the emotional beats don’t land.

Not bad, not good. Credits for Jodie Foster for giving the best performance.Siskoid

Stylish actionthriller with a great cast, great visuals and a great soundtrack. The movie has its flaws, but i rather enjoyed it!

The dialogue was hard to make out at times.Thin plot, decenr action, set, cinematography.
Felt slightly low budget, and it was, $15m.
Classic Jodie Foster whispers.

Very forgettable action movie that not even Foster or a few minutes of Goldblum can save....Warrison
