No matter what we say, we will always be the white people getting on the bus.

Imagine that you have the responsibility of a hundred lives. You are watching your only hope going away while you are standing in the rain and can do nothing but save as many lives you can...

You won't understand this unless you have seen the movie. Hotel Rwanda is a fragment of cinema that shows the ugly truth of this world: Life is not always fair. This movie is marvelous, not because it's based on true events it's because the cameras captured the recreated events very beautifully.

Don Cheadle was great and I was surprised that he didn't won the Oscar. The performances really are great. Especially in the scene when all the foreign tourists are leaving the hotel and Paul watches them, standing in the rain, as they go away safely from the riots leaving the Rwandans... the emotions run deep. You even see a lady holding a dog in the bus. Now that's creativity!

I would recommend this to everyone. It's a unique movie with a very different style of film-making. And surprisingly, it's entertaining too. Hats off to Hotel Rwanda.

It's an amazing movie about a horrible event.
I'm glad they didnt exaggerate the scenes with huge explosions and unrealistic moves, they kept it believable. That makes the movie and event even more memorable and I hope people wont be as ignorant of terrible events after seeing this

What makes this film so depressing is that the reality of the genocide had to be even worse than it's depicted here.

The story of this genocide will always give me the creeps. The failure of the UN and the horrible acts of people is absolutely terrifying. This is not my favourite film about it though. Yes, it was intense and yes, I cried and felt disgusted with mankind and scared half to death with the thought of being in the midst of similar events, but Shooting Dogs gave me nightmares. Hotel Rwanda probably will not. Still an amazing film though.

What an incredibly powerful movie. I don’t know what it is exactly, but it made me feel compassion in a way few other movies have achieved. What a terrible world we live in…

Great movie, all movies that are based on true war events like this one and others, are sad but the movie tells well the story, and teaches us important things of history

What I like most about this movie, is that they never go too Hollywood on it. It stays realistic, and tense.
Don Cheadle is awesome!

It's amazing how a great movie can be done about such horrible times.. Events like this that are not well known by the big public and global media should be more times represented in movies like this one..

Excellent piece of cinema. The protagonist is marvelous, and the movie, until almost the end, doesn't get all hollywood.

Had all the makings of an epic like Schindler's list, but a great movie nevertheless. Stuck to the topic precisely and fantastically in stead of going for great like Spielberg...

Man, what a bad movie. I'll point out only two things on why this movie should never be top250:
- a huge massacre is happening and the movie is focused on showing mr. Paul and their family, is this the real important story on what happened in 1994?
- according to many testimonies, Paul was not as depicted in this movie - a hero that saved 1.200 lives. He was soulless: for example, he often hid the hotel's supplies so that he could sell them to the ones who could afford it, leaving poorer refugees starving.

I'm horrified how anyone could twist the real story just to make it a happy ending to please the masses.
