Excellent movie. Great cinematography. Great use of lighting and shadows. And all around great framing with excellent acting. Enjoyed part I and II.

Incredibly disappointing. The film is a staid historical picture and lacks the creative montage techniques that made Eisenstein's previous films so exhilarating.

Yes, this pro-dictatorship movie made under Stalinist dictatorship is like so totally subversive.

... I see Triumph of the Will is on the list too. Mr. Vogel's list should be retitled Films as a Filmish Art
