The director's cut is fantastic. It's a shame the theatrical cut exists.

Wasn't happy about when it was released, too long and uninvolving. Watched the Director's Cut today on Blu-Ray. Diffferent movie, well paced (still long....), epic battle scenes, good drama and Bloom and Green are very good. But i have to admit that Bloom although very good, a more powerfull actor would make the movie even stronger.

Let's all take a moment and reflect on how badass Ghassan Massoud (Saladin) was in this movie.

Under-rated, and easily a better film than Gladiator. Orlando Bloom may be a weak casting choice but he doesn't ruin the proceedings. Note that this is referring to the director's cut; I recommend avoiding the theatrical cut.

I watched the director's cut. Based on the comments around it, I was expecting an underappreciated masterpiece following the mangles release of the studio cut. The movie is interesting, and it's always nice to see ambitious historical dramas (although I use the term historical very loosely in this case).

Ultimately, the film is a little bit flimsy in the plot department, and the use of slow motion really cheapens many of the action sequences, but it's still an enjoyable watch. Just not nearly as good as Gladiator.

Make sure you watch the director's cut. It fills the blanks in the theatrical cut and add a lot of background to characters. It manages pacing very well. The goodness of acting and quality of the movie increases with these changes.

Stunning. A great cast, powerful visuals and, indeed, epic. Great achievement by Scott.

Just a few things I disliked; first of all, Balian of Ibelin was not a humble blacksmith before Saladin's campaign, he was the son of a knight and was a noble in the County of Jaffa.

Secondly, as much as it tried not to, the film did portray the Muslims as the bad guys and the Christians as the good guys.

Movie is good, actores chosen are bad. And the error by Ridley was to try to do another Gladiator..

Is Orlando Bloom miraculously not in the director's cut? I think that would make it the only reason to re-watch such a deeply stupid film.

Ridley Scott tried to make another Gladiator type film, but this time the lead actor isn't any good. Think of a reason why you would want to watch (and rewatch) a film like that. That being said, cinematography is great and most of the other actors do very well.

This is a nightmare mix of the Lord of the Rings and Gladiator.

I watched the Director's Cut because Eva Green had said that her part was cut down against the Director's wishes. And to be honest I was only watching it because she was in it. I really don't get the concept of a DC, surely the finished film should be the "director's cut". But anyway, I found it insanely dull from the beginning. I'm not a fan of big epics so I shouldn't complain about not liking it really but here I am. Yeah, I didn't like it.
