Every time I sat down to continue watching, I kept being distracted by other things.

Totally fantasious, the never beginning ending meal interrupted by the most strange and thoughfull facts!! Memorable movie! A surrealistic demonstration of the bourgeoisie hypocrisy.

I imagine Bunuel and Carrière conceived of this movie in the comfort of their homes, drinking some refined alcoholic beverage from crystalline tumblers which they refilled after every new genius idea. Each scene is like being told a jokey story that sounds like it's heading towards a punchline but doesn't...not really, but it's strangely funny whilst leaving weird thoughts in your head.
This film is great art because it stays a step ahead of you all the time, which can be annoying but.Bunuel and Carrière make you love it.

Wow. Critically artistic! Bunuel is a man of art and life.

Very good movie. The start and stop annoyed me at first until I understood the meaning. Well done. Great characters.

Bunuel's best, absolutely. A fantastic film that makes no sense but is still genuinely brilliant in both ideas and execution.

This picture was introduced to me by my late son, circa 1975. You'd wonder why I wasn't there in the opening night to support my old friend Luis; then you'd realize that this was the time of my self-exile in the Cave of Ashaab e Kahf.

I recently decided to engage once again in this cinematic adventure, this time with the company of a cheap whore, as one would assume. The woman could not keep up with the demanding cinematic pacing, thus she lied down on my crotch to rest her intellect. My Scrotum worked as an incubator and, as a result, after the second act, I used my state-of-the-art Penis to transfer innovation and know-how to the woman of the night, through her experienced Anus.

Thank you.

Some movies just don't age well. This is one of them.
