Very nice adaption of the first part of Dantes' Divina Comedia, Inferno. Especially considering the time it was made. Nice special effects and surprisingly a lot of nudity. On the other hand why do you need clothes in hell. It is warm enough. 13 years 9 months ago -

Edison audio track is ESSENTIAL
Visually it perfectly captures the famous Dore illustrations. Cannot think of another film of this period that looked like a film.

I agree with many of the other posters here where they say the film is dull but there are elements that are interesting on their own. Many of the special effects are really cool and the concept and theme of the film is fascinating. I wish it was pulled off a little better. Most of the inter titles just describe the action that follows rather than complements the visuals like in most other silent films that I have seen. Also, there are many scenes where the actors are just standing around talking to each other even though there is no way of knowing what they are saying. That part is more than a little bit stupid. Still, it is worth seeing for the historical value of the feature. Anyone with interest in film history is going to find something worthy of interest. 8 years 8 months ago
