A good movie maybe a bit overrated but still a good movie. I especially liked the direction.

It must be a pearl but I just didn't 'get it'. I expected A LOT more. I couldn't believe it when it ended.

It's one of those existentialist-esque movies that are a certain type of deep that masquerades as commonplace, which confuses many viewers, myself included. I appreciate the fact that it takes someone with more brain cells than I to appreciate the real meaning in the awkward parts of this movie.

Characters Charlotte and Bob are the worst kind of people - those who think they're deeper and smarter than everyone else when they're actually just self-indulgent, unappreciative, boring assholes. And if that wasn't enough, the film is incredibly racist through out.

Maybe you should read the reviews on rotten tomatoes, Lost in Translation gets a 98% there from the top critics.

I'm sure these reviews can explain to you why this movie is so awesome.

Otherwise search on google, this "nothing happens" vs. "best movie ever" discussion has been held for at least a million times.

Ok I'm quite confused.

Bill Murray is great as ever and it did a good job at capturing real life and being (alone) in a foreign country. The dialogs feel genuine, soundtrack is good and is not used to create emotion there isn't.

However in spite of all this I just found it painfully boring.
Maybe I fail too see the point and I really think I do since so many people and critics think this is a great movie.

I just feel like it's completely overrated, boring and pretentious though...
