This should be in the best sequels list.

The second movie in my Dirty Harry collection. It provides an interesting flip side to the original film, with Harry going up against vigilantes who have gone too far and clarifying his own morality in the process.

This movie is a very interesting take on the character of Harry Callahan if you think about it. The first film was made in response to the lawlessness that the country was experiencing and Eastwood as the no-nonsense scowling detective was the antidote for audience's frustration with a lackluster justice system. This movie pushes the moral landscape into many shades of brain-matter gray as spoiler

Eastwood is once again in top form. The film does such a great job of portraying San Fran-sicko as a depraved city of lawbreakers and deviants. Harry is the man making the attempt to hold back the ocean with a broom.

This one is overall well-paced despite its length.
The last three entries didn't work very well for me, almost dislike for them. Almost.
Original Don Siegel's one from 1971 is the best.
