I think this was the first Cuban movie to be released internationally after the revolution. I saw it on Norwegian TV in the late 60s and was struck by the way it used socialist realism in a minor key. (I was expecting a bunch of heroic lady tractor drivers.) I saw it again in the 90s and was less impressed.MrE2Me
