Moving war drama about survival in a Japanese POW camp. Great performances and soundstrack. Only hampered by some sloppy editing.

Oshima is a top 10 director for me and I have seen ten of his films and been highly impressed with 8 of them... This is not one of them, while it is decent, It is easily my least favorite Oshima... Love Oshima, love Bowie, Takeshi Kitano,but I don't love them together...
