   Pretty underwhelming for an adult viewer. Unsurprisingly the Minions work better as supporting characters than protagonists (it's almost like the clue is in their name), and the humour feels targeted at a younger audience than many other animated films at the moment, although maybe we've just been spoiled by Inside Out. Moreover the film really suffers from the lack of Gru, who was the only character that actually had an arc in the original films, and I think it's now clear just how much the emotional appeal of Despicable Me owes to Carrell. All this being said I'm sure kids will love this film, which means it is successful on at least one level. 8 years 9 months ago

   I wasn't impressed and a lot of the jokes fell flat for me. I think the minions are hilarious as comic relief or in short videos, but they're only good in small doses. The movie got pretty dull and predictable after a while. 8 years 7 months ago
