Well, I found this pretty captivating. Every shot feels like a painting, painstakingly composed and colored just for the audience. Some scenes, particularly the flashbacks, drag a bit. But I was still mesmerized by the protagonists search for beauty/love as the camera forces you to take this journey with him. Simultaneously enchanting and uncomfortable, both precise and vague, this film demands your attention.

It's hard to judge him for being a creepy old man when that boy's hair is just so fabulous.

How anyone can find this movie captivating is a mystery to me. Both character development and acting (which this movie is crying out for, since it's pretty uneventful and two hours long) are not up to scratch. It simply fails to communicate with the audience in my opinion. This could quite easily be made into a short without losing much of anything.

Liked some sequences, but those were few and far between.
