I disagree with the comments left so far. Going Clear gives a far more detailed account of the religion, and for that exact reason I believe Louis went down a different road when making this documentary- he couldn't just make Going Clear again, what would be the point?
I found this to be hilarious at times, and a far more real and personal account of how the church can act and intimidate. The two docs compliment each other nicely. 7 years 7 months ago -

Any movie that takes on the ultra-creepy cult that is Scientology is A-OK in my book. 6 years 3 months ago -

This feels a lot like The Act of Killing. Rather than go directly at the church, Louis Theroux befriends Marty Rathbun and get him to re-enact and explain the strangeness of the church and its practices. Actors re-enact "alleged" Scientology practices, and the constant interruption of random people conveniently filming and disrupting their filming makes for an interesting validation of Rathbun's paranoid behavior. 6 years 11 months ago
