   This movie exists simply as an excuse to show of more of Tony Jaa's fantastic fighting choreography. After a while though, it runs out of steam and just becomes a boring, tedious mess. Forget the 'story', actually forget anything other than the beautiful fight scenes.
   It's worth noting that it has one of the most epic failures of a ending ever in movie history.
   
   "Tom yum goong" felt more like a proper sequel to "Ong-bak" than this actual sequel did, and it was more enjoyable. Whining about stolen elephants isn't cool,Tony. Oh, by the way... avoid "Ong-bak 3" like the plague if you have any sense of self preservation. 12 years ago

   Ong-Bak 2: The Beginning, a thematic prequel to Tony Jaa's break-out action film. Laudable for its intriguing portrayal of ancient Thailand (or Khmer, I guess) and some especially cool elephant-assisted fighting, it frustratingly ends on a cliffhanger, or the way I interpret it, as a way for the "complete martial artist" of the film to reincarnate into every other martial arts hero in cinema history. At least, the revenge-fueled ones. I don't think Tony Jaa doing swordplay is in any way stronger than his hand-to-hand, but there's some interesting choreography in there regardless. 7 years ago

   This movie is a good example of a "fuck flick". It's the kind of movie that you skip right to the fight scenes and ignore the rest in-between. The story and connecting scenes are really boring, to the point where the can take away some of the interest in the fight scenes unless you take a break.
   
   That being said, it does have some of the most incredible fight choreography ever. 11 years 10 months ago
