I love the theme of this movie. Not my favourite but beautiful nonetheless. It's not easy handling rascism but it's a good movie to teach children about opening their minds.
Eventhough Disney movies are often tooth enamel cracking, I do enjoy them some what on some level. This one however is terrible. I Always despised it and it took me 20 years to watch it. Totally historical inaccurate. Not only the story of Pocahontas itself, but the whole setting of Native America and Colonial Europeans. And none of it was for the better, since I have a great "Yeah right, as if!" the whole movie. On top of that is downright degrading and rascist towards the Native Americans.
They should stick with fairy tales.
Without a doubt one of the best Disney ever made!
(And, although the historical story isn't completely respected, the disney version brings a much more profound and interesting story than the truth oddly.)

I think you need to see this movie during your childhood to enjoy it. The plot is thin as can be. Knowing the historical facts make it cringeworthy.IreneAdler
One of my favorites when I was a kid. Sweet message, beautiful pictures, lovely story. Great!generalche
Not one of Disney's best. Poor story, poor characterisations, not much in the way of humour. The songs were good though.Maderon

I only liked the lead song 'colors of the wind'.

To anyone who knows history, cringeworthy. To film-watching grownups, merely odious.mook
Average Disney; felt a bit old-fashioned, humourless & clichéd, plus the 'noble savage' thing got old very quickly. 5/10.Follow me on Twitter @LastFilmSeen
