I watched this movie because it's about a true and very important story - and because Andrew Scott's in it who is a tremendously gifted actor.
But this movie just exceeded all my expectations. It's now among my absolute all-time favorites! The story is of course amazing and the topic is so important - some history of the fight for equal rights, all these people from different backgrounds cooperating and bonding over a common cause... the movie made me laugh and cry so many times and it's extremely touching and encouraging.
The cast is beyond words. Although Andrew Scott's performance was - as expected - absolutely marvelous, the rest of the cast just blew me away as well; and that applies to at least ten or more wonderful actors. Plus, congratulations to directing and screenwriting here - it's a hell of a task to have such a huge number of protagonists in a story who all have their magical moments... AND the movie is still working as a whole.
This film gave me one of the best cinema experiences ever. It is so well acted, very funny and the pace is fantastic. The displayed time frame is spot on and the story is very touching. I never cried so much in a film theater. During the singing scene and the final scene, I just cried and cried. Magnificent film.

Worth watching the "Making of..." featurette if you can. Emphasises the importance of the story and has discussions with the real characters.Enjoyed the whole thing more than I anticipated.
