Oh I really tried to like this. I didn't. (note: I somehow maneged to watch this with zero spoilers.)
It was predictable to the point I thought the "twist" was a red herring. The
psychiatrist
scene is an insult to the viewers. Maybe this sort of plot twist wasn't common before and if that's the case it can be forgiven. That doesn't make it easier to watch now.
Appears in 25 lists. I'll save this for last to top off all those lists at once (and to make sure there's at least one good movie left after I've seen the other thousands :P).
Nice movie, even tho the expected spoilers for a classic old movie kinda ruined the plot twist. Only slept in a few scenes and could finish it in one sitting!
7/10
I think for anyone born after the 80’s, watching black and white movies isn’t that obvious. I grew up in the nineties so I can safely say that my generation, and those that follow, are used to gore and special effects.
Psycho was made in 1960. The horror is demure and consists mostly of images that speak to the mind. The tension is strong in the scenes and the dialogue is amazing.
It may be old and a bit outdated, but it’s still a goddamn good movie. Masterpiece and a must see!
Great. Almost perfect movie. Hitchcock is known as the Master of Suspense and we can see why in Psycho. Great directing, great acting and iconic soundtrack.
I don't know if I've heard so much about the movie and it's characters that you pretty much know the movie even before you've watched it but I figured the plot twist pretty much as early as was possible.

Norman Bates surely has a disturbed personality, this film is really terrifying compared to the horror/suspense films that we have today.preparingup

The last 10 minutes are EPIC. I hadn't experienced so much tension since The Exorcist. What a fucking masterpiece.operationdropkick
