I like to go into movies blind so this one was really shocking to me. Quite harsh which I don't mind, it was just not what I was expecting given Lawrence's history of milktoast movies. It would seem that this departure from the norm has jarred fans and they are not accepting.

If you can get past that, then there is much to enjoy here. Twists, deceit, and quick thinking are the game and it's well played by the Red Sparrow. I look forward to more and I fully expect a sequel given how much time they put into the back story. 5 years 11 months ago

Atrocious writing. Poorly developed characters. Numerous plot holes and illogical motivations. Terrible accents. Ridiculous sexual scenes. Absurd red-scare portrayal of Russian society. The twist is interesting but foreseeable and not worthy of going through 2 hours of watching this hot mess.
