Traits that seem to carry over in Visconti's work include: lush photography, a grand scale centered around a handful of characters, and an infatuation with melodrama beyond everything else. I did not care for anyone in this story and it dragged on quite a bit, never showing the charm one can find in The Leopard. I also have draining patience for romanticizations of infidelity anyway. 1 day 21 hours ago
