I'm kind of familiar with Star Trek franchise. I've seen two and a half episodes of the original show, I know a little bit about Star Trek from all kinds of media (Plinkett's reviews mostly). I admit that Wrath of Khan is a good sci-fi film, but still I couldn't get into it at all. I sometimes hear people saying that they cry everytime they see spoiler or even when they hear the music from spoiler or whatever. Well, I believe it was emotionally engaging to some people, but I couldn't care less when all that was happening. Which just once again proves that you DO need to watch the series in order to like the movies (even though hundreds of Star Trek fans claimed otherwise).

Second installment of the Star Trek series is much better than the first one. Good story, great villian, humor, action and a moving ending. Hadn't seen it in years but still a lot of fun. Next week, part III :-)

There is literally more action in the first 3 minutes of this film than in the 2+ hours of the first one, just going to show how much they learned from the supremely mediocre first stab at the series. Khan is a good villain, and Montalban is able to channel much of the suave nature, menace, and power that was present in his premiere episode. Not hard to see why it's hailed as the best of the TOS-era movies.

For many the best Star Trek movie, though I find it to have dated somewhat. Still, the Kirk/Khan conflict is one of the greatest in all of Trek and there's no lack of great moments here.

I just started my journey into the world of Star Trek. The only Star Trek I'd seen was JJ Abrams' reboot. I always heard Wrath of Khan was the best film and have long planned on watching it eventually. But I figured I'd at least go ahead and watch the previous one first. The first one was slightly boring and more than slightly cheesy, but I liked the characters and teamwork and the bond they all have. Wrath of Khan was much better. It brings a villain back from the show and he blames Kirk for his wife's death. Still cheesy, but in a more endearing way this time. A few tears at the end (from someone who has never seen the show, but I'm an emotional guy). Of course we all know the ending is irrelevant in the next movie.

A much better movie than its predecessor and an amazing adventure too, The Wrath of Khan is considerably good. The main attraction is the war between Kirk and Khan, but is overshadowed by Spock in the later part. Yet Spock's hopeful disposition adds even more contrast to the debacle, especially in the case of the vengeful Khan. A jewel of a movie, especially Montalban's "From Hell's heart I stab at thee..."

Ok, if you aren't a big fan of Star Trek and haven't seen the series, this movie is pointless and cheesy...

a stark improvement from the first installment, it still doesnt utilize the fact that this is a movie. It still feels like a long episode, just with better dialogue and less imagination.
