   There's nothing subtle about the toxicity of that workplace. Voicing concerns over sexual exploitation is prohibited and may result in losing your job.
   
   Everyone knows what is going on, but they all pretend like they don't. If you want to work at that workplace, you have to do the same. If that's what you mean with "going with the flow", then yes, you have sucessfully become a toxic person yourself. 2 years 11 months ago

   I was an admin’ for a few years, but I’m not a female and it wasn’t in the Entertainment industry, so I can only relate so much, but enough to appreciate what the filmmaker has done, here. A day in the life of an unappreciated admin who also witnesses an abuse of power by her sexual predator of a boss. There’s very little dialogue and especially very little interaction with other people in the movie (which is the point). It was really great to see Julia Garner in a completely different role than foul-mouth, red-hot, redneck Ruth on Ozark. Bonus points for having three actors from Succession. 2 years 2 months ago

   Nah. It is boring. Might as well have gone to work with her. (The main actress is fantastic, tho). We already know what the movie is about so there’s no real mystery to what we’re watching unless you go in absolutely blind. Maybe it’d be more intriguing that way. Since I already knew this was Weinstein-inspired I didn’t find it subtle or really even meaningful. It’s basically just illustrating what you can read in articles about the scandal, while forcing it into a one-day narrative (guy goes through two girls in less than six hours) and struggling to remain detached and distant so it feels classy. We don’t wanna be gross about it— we’ll let the victims keep their dignity by making it happen off-screen. But it’s morbid. I wouldn’t call it original in its approach either. We’ve seen that HR scene before— we’ve seen “career women” dismissing abuse before— so what do we get out of it? What’s the lesson? What is the movie saying? We already knew it was a stressful, toxic, sexist environment. Who needed this? The director should put her skills to good use and make an actual horror film or something. She is clearly very talented. Too talented to make exploitative stuff like this. Who is this movie for? 2 years 4 months ago
