Just watched it, a bit too long and dated for 2021, I guess maybe 15 years ago I would have liked it better, but now different times. I believe it was even considered long in the 90s, more importantly it is very slow, nothing really fascinating happens, its just like a monologue with flashbacks.

Not for everyone. Its a beautiful poetic tale. People would not get the plot & some would even hate it becuase only a few of us are in love with poems,and we've got one.

Total Oscar bait. Excellent performances, a few pseudo-poetic lines of dialogue, themes of race/nationalism/what have you, soundtrack consisting entirely of piano, "based on a true story," British accents, and of course, Nazis. Not a bad movie, but it follows the formula far too closely to do anything interesting. It's like a really well made hamburger.

This film is more beautiful than most people realise! Exceptionally shot, great performances and wonderful music to fall in love with. On an emotional level this is really out there!!

Hauntingly beautiful story and interestingly put together. My only regret is that it's a bit long and at times my concentration wavered, but it is a lovely story.

It certainly is a well made film. There are some beautiful moments and fine performances all around. The plot didn't strike me to be as powerful as the film would like to think it is. It is a bit too melodramatic and maybe a little long, but definitely worth checking out. It doesn't deserve some of the hate (or backlash) that it received after winning Best Picture.

The story is good. But i can't stand with the long running time with dull and boring scenes , dialogue etc.
I hate this movie, i think the message is : If you're alone, bored . Just go get your friend's wife, nail her then leave your friend , society etc. And would be acceptable in other place.
Gross story, and grossly overrated.
