Durong a raging storm, one of the sailors starts humming. The rest of the crew takes over. Appareantly none of the actors have ever been on a boat. Engine noise, raging wimds and househigh waves would have made it impossible to yell at eachother.
The engineroom of the wreck is a complete mistake.
The lady forgot her coat, it is mid-winter. She is wearing a short sleave blouse and she is never cold.
And none of the people are ever getting cold.
I just don't get it. 7 years 1 month ago -

The film's ham-fisted religious themes and frankly insulting message (apparently literally closing your eyes and having faith is the key to sailing through a storm, locating a missing ship, and finding land) undermine what would otherwise be a solid, if overly sentimental, old-fashioned rescue thriller. It's a shame because Pine impresses in a far more subdued and subtle role than usual and the camerawork is nothing short of stunning. 8 years 1 month ago
