After watching the movie i couldn't believe the fact that a woman directed it. Hats off to Kathryn Bigelow.nicolaskrizan
maybe my expectations were too high...http://1001movies.posterous.com/897
Joker of Gotham
Incredible work by the director and incredible work by the writer he does a fantastic job with the main character. Jeremy Renner is fantastic with this character, the performance is the best part of this movie, no doubt, that was Oscar worthy for sure.4.25/5

this film seems to get a lot of hate, but i thought it was good that's all that matters!Joris B.
This should be in the war list.Mr DeMille
That was a great moment in Oscar history.RussellH88
Absolutely amazing film. I hear that it's insanely unrealistic, but it's so well-made and the performances are so good that it stands alone as a magnificent film even if it's not a particularly accurate one.OneAngryMan
Great movie and one of the best War movies of all times.Phil2000
Hurt Locker is 2009, in fact, it is the best picture of 2009.Siskoid
I respect its documentary style - sometimes forgetting that they weren't really filming in Baghdad - but then the action movie tropes (the maverick hero) seemed to work against the style. Then again, the events are based on the scriptwriter's observations while embedded with a bomb squad in 2004 (and his bits are the most interesting thing about the commentary track), so it may be a case of life imitating art. Certainly, while there is an "arc" to follow, there isn't really a plot. It made me think of Platoon (without Oliver Stone, which is a good thing) in its portrait of the Iraq OccupationBigAwesomeBLT
Felt very real and authentic. Great amount of tension and some beautiful shots. Quite slow in places but I think it needed that to push the tension.syarifah dhira
This question keep haunting me until now: HOW COULD YOU WIN AN OSCAR WITH A FILM LIKE THIS?daisyaday
Powerful story of the experiences of a EOD team in the Iraqi war. Plenty of tense moments walking to the bomb and defusing it. The writer spent time with a team in Iraq in 2004.Captain Awesome
