I went to cinema without high expectation, because critics panned it. But surprisingly it is very good movie. I thought that I'll get bored ,considering duration. But no..I didn't ! The story is cliche. But, technically it's superb... no wonder the budget reached up to 250 million dollars.I like this movie.

Very amusing movie. I too, went in with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised in all aspects. The humor is good, the action is better. If you regard Pirates of the Caribbean in high regard, you owe it to yourself to see this movie.lachyas
I wouldn't say this is anything special, but it's more entertaining than 90% of Hollywood blockbusters, and it's a real shame that it's been vilified as much as it has been. Sure it feels bloated at times, with an inexplicably long run time, massive budget, and unnecessary and contrived framing device, but it never drags, and Depp and Hammer breathe fresh life into their respective characters, forming a wonderful partnership. The humour is very Pirates-esque, and for the most part it works beautifully, particularly the health inspector scene, while the action set pieces are without exception brilliant, from both a technical and entertainment standpoint.Count me as very disappointed that we'll almost certainly never see a sequel to this, but then the studio is more than partly to blame for thinking that a $250 million plus budget Lone Ranger movie would ever make a profit. With a few more sensible business decisions, a shorter running time, and a better marketing campaign this could have been the success that the film itself deserves.

I find hard to fathom the animosity towards this movie. A highly original take on the origin of a western myth coupled with a modern perspective on the economic forces that shaped the west. It takes its cue from "Once upon a time in the west" and examines the coercive forces behind the advent of the railway that resulted in accelerating the extinction of the Native American population. Despite its several well balanced comedy moments, it is after all a bitter tale depicting the modernisation of the west as a showcase for the strongest who sets up the rules and draws the laws of the land.Brilliantly executed set-pieces like the final railway pursuit, some lyrical interludes like the backstory of Johnny Depp's character, and a consistently inventing storyline make the Lone Ranger one of the most subversive and innovative Hollywood films of the last 15 years, a movie that will be reappraised in time to come.

This could've been great but is meh. The tone is all over the place. One minute it's deadly seriously and insanely violent the next the characters are levying bad, unfunny jokes at the audiences. One the iconic theme song kicks in for the final chase, things heat up, but I don't think I'd want to sit through 2.5 hours of movie for that again. There are three origin stories contained in the run time. What a shame that this unfocused mess of a film collapses under it's own girth, there was a good movie there, somewhere.SleepyMaster
Too long, but highly entertaining. Funny jokes, good action and I really liked the main characters. The music was of great choice, especially in the ending. If this movie stuck with the 'regular' 90-120 mins it would be better. 6.7latautuu
A lot better than I expected!Clearly recognizeable Verbinski&Bruckheimer production, very similar to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise but not enough to make it seem like "a copy".
I really enjoyed the story and the comedic aspects of the film, as well as the amazing locations and music! The actors were great too, especially William Fichtner as a bad guy and Johnny Depp as his usual insane sidekick character.

I saw this movie at the cinema 3 years ago, and i re-watched it today. It was a very beautiful movie. I liked the story very much: not boring but really thrilling. I recommend this movie at 100%Bobby Peru
"Something very wrong with that horse."Funny and entertaining film if you don't expect it to be the best action film you've ever seen.

Not great but ceretainly not bad. Familiair story but some good action and stunt work. The 250million show on screen. It is very violent for a family movie and their are some strange editing choices.
But entertaining and fun 2,5 hours

Good movie all in all. I don't think Johnny Depp can find a weirder roledr love
Decent, funny movie.. nothing special.. worths a watchTheOnlyRogueAngel
In the same humourous vein as Pirates of the Caribbean, this movie is funny, entertaining and at times thought provoking. This is far better than the critics would have you believe. Johnny Depp is brilliant, and the storyline is well thought out and well written.I give it a B-

For a person that never saw something related with the lone ranger, like me, this movie turned out to be a decent movie, at least for me.I don´t have any problem with Depp´s performance, my problems with the movie is that there are a lot of no sense moments, the movie is a little to long, and for me it didn´t made sense the story in the museum with Tonto telling the story to the kid. Get rid of the kid, get rid of the old Tonto and this movie turns out better.
