It's depressing that this is not set 50 years ago but is the situation today. The ending is well calibrated to anger you into wanting change, which is clearly part of the point of the film's existence.ntan
I attended a screening of all five nominees for Best Live Action Short. This was the only one that garnered applause. It is an utterly beautiful, heartwarming, devastating film. Really simple, not much to it, but the message was incredibly touching. The acting also was incredible. 10/10
