Local Hero -- aka MestnyiGeroi
Not sure whether it's clear to younger people and non-Americans, but the title has specific political resonance in the USA. Nixon coined the phrase "the silent majority" in 1969 to describe those he felt did not stand with the counter-cultural protest movement, to describe the majority of the country that he felt supported him and the establishment status quo. No film could use that title without evoking the U.S. culture wars that started in the 60s and still rage on today. 9 years 11 months ago -

@:Limguela Sjostrom-Raume: "Then the film shows that everyone thought the same thing while we didn't know it."
We know that from before the beginning, just by reading the title. And as the film progresses, we see more and disgusted faces.
Multi-interpretation doesn't a make a movie good. There are a ton load of shit movies that could be interpreted in multiple ways.
It was quite ok (and it's rather straight forward and not that hard to understand). 10 years 7 months ago -
