This movie is just wow. I have seen Tron (1982) and I must say that this is a great follow up to the first movie. The set, wardrobe, visual effects and action scenes are stunning. It is highly recommended that you should see the first Tron movie to appreciate more its gloriousness.
I'd read a lot of bad reviews, so my expectations were low, but I thought it was pretty great. The visuals (especially the design concept) are amongst the best I've ever seen in a film. The CGI... well, less said about Young Jeff the better. Fantastic soundtrack, as frequently mentioned, and actually a pretty involving and moving story of father and son beneath all the trappings. Jeff Bridges can do no wrong. Wish I'd seen it in the cinema - 7/10
Whatever you all say about this movie, Daft Punk did a perfect job on the score, that first of all. It is PERFECT.
Bridges: Channeling the Dude and awesome.
Sheen: Solid acting.
Visuals: wow.
Plot: Not great, but who cares with everything above. It's just a great popcorn movie to enjoy at nights with not too many friends.
i really liked this movie alot despite all the negative comments about it. visuals were amazing, and i really liked the story & acting. i think the storyline tied in well with the original movie! a fun movie worth watching! loved it!
Maybe it's because I didn't watch the first Tron back when it came out or maybe this just is a boring, formulaic movie. It had some cool visuals and I dig parts of the soundtrack but the plot and main actor were exceedingly bland. It was a chore to actually finish watching.
TRON Legacy updates the virtual world - obviously, there have been upgrades with our graphics processors since then - but I'm most impressed by how they turned every single bit of the original's live action story into part of a greater mythology. Missed opportunity though: The company and Dillinger's heir don't really have to do with anything nefarious going on in the virtual world, which seems a waste (no Cillian Murphy avatar, for example). Instead, Flynn's now grown-up son heads into the machine to find his long-lost father and must fight Flynn's corrupted avatar Clu and defend a spontaneous A.I. who might be the key to... well, here it gets a little zen trippy, à la Matrix Reloaded, and one feels that perhaps, that whole plot line is just there to set up future films. But overall, an enjoyable adventure that gives more depth to this world, with good action and great effects, even if they aren't as groundbreaking as the original (hard to say that about something today). There is a CG "young Jeff Bridges" that looks like a cut-scene video game character and about as distracting as the more recent Rogue One Tarkin, and while it works okay for Clu, flashbacks to Flynn aren't so forgiving. Maybe that was trying to break new ground, I just haven't seen it achieved properly yet.
I really liked this one. The plot was pretty meh, but the visuals were absolutely stunning, and Daft Punk's soundtrack was superb. The first TRON didn't have an amazing story either and was marketed primarily on it's visuals. Go in expecting a fireworks show and nothing more and you will be very satisfied.

Great visuals, epic music (best movie soundtrack of 2010 imo), and Bridges is awesome as ever.Too bad the plot is not of the same quality, but definitely a cool movie experience, especially in the cinema!

Good sequel. Stunning visual effects!dvdllr
My biggest problem with this movie was the young Jeff Bridges' CGI face. Deep in the depths of the uncanny valley.CinemaRaven
