Ok, so obviously this is a female rip off from what women want.
But really it's on the premise that is taken, and it sadly is nowhere near as good as the Gibson movie.
Firstly, it's not that Ali doesn't get men it's that Ali is an arsehole. Something which being able to hear what men want wouldn't be able to really fix.
Secondly the film's premise is that Ali is an arsehole then it suddenly decides, no, actually it's because most men are pigs and misogonist.
So now Ali isn't in the wrong, it's all the men who apparently just hate women.
So now the whole premise of the movie doesn't make any sense.
Then, completely out of nowhere, it turns out Ali's race is now the reason she didn't get to become a partner. Not that she's a major arsehole, or that all men hate women.
The film just doesn't work because it can't decide what sort of movie it wants to be, or what exactly Ali is fighting against.
Which makes the ending fairly flat because she doesn't actually really change, they (the writers) just gave her a bs happy ending.
This is definitely a made for tv movie.
